Plot: When his brother is killed in a robbery, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. The film lamhaa starring sanjay dutt, kunal kapoor, bipasha basu and anupam kher is directed by rahul dholakia. The story starts off in 2009 Kashmir and talks about the separatist movement there. One important aspect that makes it different from other films of the same kind is it does show the dark side of both nations.
Sanjay dutt is sent to Kashmir on an undercover operation after the Indian intelligence hears a possible terror attack there. Anupam kher is a separatist leader fighting for a free Kashmir. Bipasha basu is his follower. Kunal kapoor who was once with anupham kher and now a reformed man wants to contest for the elections. Their fallout is shown in a flashback. As the story progresses sanjay goes out spying and learns of a big terror attack planned in the valley and very soon to our disappointment we learn that it is the bombing of a political rally which we have already seen in hundred film before. What happens next is for you to watch.
The film has good music. The screenplay by Raghav Dhar and Rahul Dholakia though appears disconnected at times touches various important issues. Sanjay dutt is good in his role but his character could have been establiahed better. Bipasha basu in the scene very similar to the one in malena is really good. Anupam kher is effective. Kunal kapoor has done a good job excludind the long political speeches he gives. Lamhaa is a good film and a worthy watch.
